The photo doesn't make you think so, but I actually didn't buy that many books over the summer! In fact, I'm pretty impressed with how little I bought, but on the other hand, I did buy three books recently, so by now, I'm not that impressed anymore 😂🙈
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (Goodreads // Book Depository)
By now, everybody probably already knows how much I love this book. It's an all-time favourite, and I got the beautiful hardcover copy as a gift! Books always make me happy, but diverse favourites are the ultimate gifts 😍 You can read my review for Six of Crows here, and Crooked Kingdom here.
Warcross by Marie Lu (Goodreads // Book Depository)
I had heard so many great things about this book from people with arcs I even pre-ordered this one! It didn't live up to the hype, for me (read more here), but it was still very enjoyable and the cover is gorgeous.
Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke (Goodreads // Book Depository)
Both this and the next book were gifts to me to cheer me up on bad days 😊 This was a pretty strange book (you can find my review here) but the cover is stunning!
Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall (Goodreads // Book Depository)
I'm super curious about this! My hope is that this might be what Everything, Everything could have been without the blatant ableism that made the book so problematic. I'll try to get to this soon, but I feel like it might be slightly heavy too, which means I'll have to time it well.
The Long Way to a Small and Angry Planet by Becky Chambers (Goodreads // Book Depository)
It was only €5 on Book Depository! How could I not get this? Especially since I've heard so many great things and read a lot of loving reviews about this book. It's next up on my TBR, and I'm so excited!
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo (Goodreads // Book Depository)
As I've mentioned above, Leigh Bardugo is a QUEEN and I want to read whatever she writes! I actually don't know anything about Wonder Woman, but I've heard things about diversity and feminism, so it can only be good, right? Fingers crossed.
Persuasion by Jane Austen (Goodreads // Book Depository)
To be completely honest, I actually bought this one in June. But in my defence, it was on the 30th and all the other books in my June haul came from the Amazon deal, so I had a theme going on 😄 Anyway, I bought this in Shakespeare and Company! And I'd been wanting to start collecting the Penguin Vintage Classics from Austen, so it was perfect.
How many books did you buy over the summer?
