REVIEW: The Little Shop of Happy Ever After by Jenny Colgan
I loved this book. It was exactly what I needed.
It is the story of Nina, a 29 year old librarian who loses her job. She loves books so much she doesn't know what to with her life now. The only thing left is the dream she always quietly had about opening a bookshop (and don't we all have that dream?). But it's a big step to give the life you have up like that, and where will it bring her?
This is a cute, romantic, nicely predictable read. It is a book for all the booklovers out there. I recognised myself in so many parts. I want to open a bookshop. I spend more money on books than I should. I want everyone to read and wish I could just hand out books. And still keep a lot of them for myself. I would have a hard time selling beautiful books. If it had more English books, I would practically live in the library.
It will not change your life, but it will take you and let you live the life you always secretly wanted to have. That is, if you're anything like me.
